The Amazon Fresh Private Brands International team manages and develops our byAmazon grocery consumables brand across Amazon Fresh Stores, Amazon Fresh Online, and Amazon.com across the UK and 4 EU locales. Our private brand product selection offers everyday essentials alongside seasonal products, providing customers with great quality and value on products we know they need.
Our offerings include fresh products such as sandwiches, salads, and meals, alongside ambient staples like tinned fruit, vegetables, pasta, sauces, and drinks. Our goal is to be Earth’s most customer-centric grocery brand, and we are just getting started. We are looking for people who want to join an ambitious, innovative, and customer-obsessed program.
We are looking for an exceptionally motivated and talented Senior Program Manager with relevant sustainability experience who is passionate about making a difference, obsessing about the customer, and has a passion for grocery.
This role will require working alongside several sustainability teams to ensure that the Amazon Fresh Private Brands team meets all compliance and regulation requirements across the EU while achieving our global goals. The candidate must be comfortable with ambiguity and earn trust within the team, partner teams, and with external stakeholders. They will need to source, clean, and manipulate data to comply with multiple existing and emerging sustainability regulations and their associated reporting requirements, guided by internal regulatory teams (e.g., Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), European Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)). Establish mechanisms for tracking and managing timelines against deliverables and reporting progress to key stakeholders. Develop and report compliance metrics to manage any data gaps or discrepancies, sharing metrics with stakeholders in a clear and timely manner. Develop and execute structured processes to ensure compliance in our supply base to identified standards, such as our responsible sourcing policies, verifying evidence against agreed criteria.
The right candidate will have experience in sustainability, be customer-obsessed, dive deep into understanding the data, and be capable of managing ambiguity while earning trust with multiple teams across business units and functions to deliver results.
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Program manage the data required for compliance and regulation topics for AFPBI Sustainability (e.g., CSRD, EUDR, and UKFRC).
2. Establish mechanisms for tracking and managing timelines against deliverables and reporting progress to key stakeholders.
3. Develop and report compliance to AFPBI’s metrics to manage % compliance, % data gaps, managing the path to green, and sharing metrics with stakeholders in a clear and timely manner to meet existing and emerging sustainability regulations, alongside inputting into Amazon’s public Annual Sustainability Report.
4. Develop and execute structured processes to ensure compliance in our supply base for all products meeting identified standards, through verified evidence.
5. Work across multiple internal and external systems and dashboards to pull and communicate data (e.g., ANDI - Amazon’s PLM system, and Quicksight dashboards).
6. Invent and simplify through offshoring and automation. Recommend process improvements or use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
7. Communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate alignment, approval, and adoption of new tools and processes.
8. Maintain adherence to the UK Green Claims Code and similar marketing guidelines across Europe, guarding against greenwashing and liaising with colleagues in Legal, PR, Marketing, etc., to approve any published information.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience in Culinary Development/Food Product Development from product concepts to full commercialization.
2. Experience creating and documenting processes and procedures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Extensive experience in the food industry with relevant product development experience.
2. Culinary & Food Technology experience/training, preferably in fresh food development.
3. Experience and knowledge of ingredient functionality.
4. Experience working in a cross-functional large organization environment.
5. Experience converting data and insights into strategic product pipelines.
6. Experience in end-to-end project management and adherence to critical paths and brand standards.
7. Experience commercializing diverse products.
8. Experience with Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint, and formula management focused systems.
