Job Title: Civil Engineer Graduate Duration: 39 months Starting Salary: £28,500 Working Hours: Mon – Fri 7.30 am -5 pm (Occasional weekend work) Location: Braid Square Glasgow G4 9YQ What You’ll Do: Woodside Viaduct Project is one of the largest maintenance projects withing the UK at present and there is potential future for further works. Covering the temporary works installation of a suitable propping system to prop the eastern and western viaduct. This involved jacking 23 crossheads. These essential but not limited to works consist of the following: Groundworks/utility diversions Concrete jacket works New foundation pads Concrete repairs to all aspects of the structures Piling – king post wall Piling – auger method and casings Pile cap works Sheet piling Drainage works Kerbing Planning Surfacing Lining APJS and rail joints Barrier works – Permanent and temporary Site compound works Traffic lighting Lighting Propping Steelwork Transfer Steel works Bridge Jacking Waterproofing Maintenance highways and structural works Traffic Management Community and social value Environmental works – noise and pollution control Temporary works Hydrodemolition Scaffolding Lifting COSHH CDM management Structures Inspection Non-destructive testing Structural maintenance Scheme design and delivery Operational Delivery Subcontractor Management Client Liaison 3rd party liaison Design technical management Quality control Environmental Control H&S input and delivery Auditing Tracking and program input Planning Pre-Construction works Temporary works coordination Document control Local authority liaison Why Join Us? What You’ll Bring: Qualifications BEng in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering Passion for developing your skills both professional and personally The commitment and drive to complete the appropriate profession registration in your field (Chartership) in CEng/Ieng Strong analytical, written, communication and presentation skills Good interpersonal and team working skills, with evidence of problem-solving ability Self-motivated with the ability to plan and prioritise time Full driving license or working towards it. You must be available to join the programme in April 2025 Have the enthusiasm to be part of a high performing team and a drive for success Skills Full driving license Able to demonstrate basic technical skills within the relevant technical discipline, together with a strong desire to improve their competencies over the course of the programme Good understanding of Health & Safety Experience You will have Engineering knowledge and skills to deliver robust structural assessments, to help us inform our clients, which will enable them to continue the safe, efficient, and optimal management of the capability of their structure assets Behavioural competencies Are willing to apply all safety requirements when carrying out work.
