Project Manager - Industrial Roofing, Sheeting and Cladding
Overview
We are a family-run industrial roofing, sheeting and cladding business based in the Midlands and are looking to recruit a Project Manager due to expansion. We are a small close-knit team and take great pride in our company, our staff, and the high-quality work we undertake. Our projects are new builds, refurbishments, and maintenance, ranging between £5,000 and £1 million per site, and we have many large, regularly returning client companies. Candidates will have a positive attitude, good communication and motivational skills, reliability, punctuality, and the ability to remain calm when under pressure. Excellent timekeeping, IT and administration skills, and organisational skills are essential.
Job Details/Description
To oversee multiple contracts running concurrently from start to finish. Site locations will be mainly Midlands but also nationwide. 70% of the role will be office-based (Nottinghamshire) with the remaining 30% site-based. The candidate will work alongside the Director, Estimator, and Site Supervisors for each contract.
Role will include:
1. Organise and control sub-contract labour
2. Approve sub-contract labour invoices
3. Review & adhere to client program schedule of works to ensure deadlines are met
4. Responsible for multiple projects at any given time, ensuring that they come in on budget and hit practical completion dates
5. Attend site meetings with labour and client management teams
6. Ability to problem solve when the need arises
7. Raise requests for further information (RFI)
8. Procure project materials and ensure deliveries meet programme time requirements
9. Ensure snagging is closed off in time for handover
10. Prepare risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
11. Ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with RAMS, liaising with Site Supervisor
12. Ensure works are installed as per approved working drawings, specifications and manufacturers' details
13. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with main contractors/clients
14. Identify value engineering opportunities
15. Organise working/construction drawings with our draughtsman and client, whilst resolving any drawings issues to reach approval stage
16. Organise and off-hire plant, netting, scaffold, and cranes
Candidate Requirements:
1. Candidate will ideally be based within 1 hour of office base (Nottinghamshire)
2. Vast experience in industrial roofing and cladding
3. Extensive knowledge of cladding systems
4. Competent in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Word, and PDF viewer
5. Ability to read and understand architectural/steelwork and construction drawings
6. Approachable persona and excellent team player
7. Good communication skills
Salary
£40-£50k - depending on experience
£6k car allowance PA
