As an Orthopaedic Scrub Nurse, you will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary theatre team providing a high standard of nursing care and safety for patients within the theatre unit. In addition to this, you will also actively contribute to the maintenance of an environment that is conducive to the delivery and promotion of a high standard of patient care. The post holder will adhere to professional and national standards and work in a patient-focused way, delivering a service that is safe, effective, and efficient.

We specialise in the areas of orthopaedics, cosmetic surgery, and women's health, but also undertake general surgery and are seeking a full-time Scrub Nurse competent in Orthopaedics, General, or Gynaecology surgery.
Job responsibilities
1. Assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating peri-operative patient care, which includes:
1. Preparing patients for clinical/operative procedures.
2. Providing assistance in clinical/operative procedures.
3. Providing initial emergency care as required.
4. Working with members of the multi-disciplinary Theatre team following local protocols and standards.
5. Ensuring that the patients' comfort, dignity, and privacy are maintained at all times.
6. Assembling, checking, and preparing the appropriate surgical instruments and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures, reporting any faults to the Theatre Manager immediately.
7. Coordinating the use of supplies and equipment during the operating list, ensuring the equipment is used in an appropriate and safe manner.
8. Monitoring and checking stock items including consumables, equipment, and drugs.
9. Promoting and ensuring an environment conducive to the continuing prevention and control of infection for all staff, patients, and visitors.
10. Ensuring any accidents or complaints are fully documented and that the appropriate manager is informed.
11. Maintaining the safe custody and handling of drugs in accordance with Kinvara Private Hospital's policy.
12. Participating in the education, training, and development of other staff.
13. Actively contributing to changes in practice and policies when changes have arisen which may follow an audit, complaint, or newly issued guidance.
14. Adhering to all Kinvara Private Hospital policies and procedures.
15. Undertaking any other duties as required by the line manager.

* Minimum of 3 years experience working in orthopaedic theatre.
* Experience of working within private healthcare.
