Yard / Warehouse Operative – Building Merchants
Full time, Permanent
Our client is a building and timber merchant based in Welham Green, Hertfordshire. They sell building supplies online across London and the surrounding areas.
Due to growth, they are looking to add 2 colleagues to the Warehouse team, specifically experienced forklift drivers to assist in the day-to-day operations of a busy yard/warehouse environment.
Job Specification:
* Assisting with loading and unloading deliveries using a forklift truck, picking orders, and moving stock around the site
* Picking orders accurately and in a timely manner
* Checking loaded goods against delivery notes
* Assisting Trade Counter customers as required
* Keeping work areas clean and tidy
* Adhering to Health & Safety regulations at all times
* Some manual handling is required
This is a full-time, permanent role. Shift pattern is 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with alternate Saturdays from 7am to 1pm.
Person Specification:
* Forklift Truck Driving: 2 years (required)
* Builders merchant experience desirable; training will be given
* Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team
* Ability to work quickly and efficiently with strong attention to detail
* Ability to follow health and safety regulations
* Good communication and customer service skills
To be considered for this role, you must have a Forklift license with 2 years experience of working in a busy yard.
