We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking an experienced Section Engineer.
Due to the site being a high Security Military Naval base, additional security checks will need to be made – BPSS level of security clearance is required. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and have been a UK residence for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.

Your mission
As a Section Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
* Manage in the preparation of ‘as-built drawings’.
* Establishing effective systems to record work completed updating the Project Quality Plan accordingly.
* Manage systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions and quantity.
* Assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc.
* Provide engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
* Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances.
* Regularly check the setting out points and benchmarks and check that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly.
* Ensure workforce understands setting out information has been identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out.
* Manage the preparation of sketches for distribution on site, ensuring clear communication channels are in place for effective understanding.
* Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the work.
* Record instructions.
* Maintain drawing register.
Who are we looking for?
* Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable – one or more of: BSc, BA, BEng, Meng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech, Completion of Higher Apprenticeship.
* SSSTS.
* CSCS – White PQP/AQP.
* May be working towards Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE or other appropriate professional body.
* Experience in a similar role.
