RWD is looking for exceptional candidates for an assistant position within our Yacht Design and Project Management team. Based at our studio in Beaulieu, you will support project teams to ensure their work is delivered on time, budget and to an exceptional standard. You will work closely with all members of the project team, including those from the Exterior Design, Interior Design and FF&E departments. The Yacht Design team is the organisational glue which holds RWD project teams together. They have a broad experience and interest in all aspects of yacht design, project management and construction. As project managers, the team are naturally organised and meticulous in their attention to detail. As designers, they harness the specialist design skills of their colleagues to ensure the execution of a truly integrated yacht design. About You As a Graduate or Master in Naval Architecture, Yacht or Transport design you have a minimum of 1-2 years' working in the luxury/yacht industry with relevant project management experience. Within the project management element of your role, you are naturally organised and meticulous in attention to detail whilst maintaining a high-level overall view. Armed with your broad knowledge and skills within the yacht industry, you harness the skills of the surrounding team who possess talents that you may not. You can think on your feet, making project decisions that ensure client expectations are met, whilst also knowing at what point to escalate for support. You need to maintain a level of pragmatism and diplomacy whilst excelling in communications both written and verbal. You continue to be the expert in industry standards and yacht codes by keeping up with the latest news and developments in these areas. You pride yourself in IT skills and knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhino, InDesign, Photoshop, MS Office/Excel, planning software and hand sketching. You have good spoken English and can work in the UK. Key Responsibilities and Tasks Effectively communicate and translate the interior or exterior design information of the project by providing 2D CAD drawing and 3D models to shipyard and/or subcontractor manufacturers. Draft the general arrangement plans for review. Organise and supply information to visualisers. In collaboration with a Project Coordinator, ensure project planning and work schedules are kept up to date synchronising with the project build schedule to ensure that all design information is supplied on time. Liaise, co-ordinate, and correspond with the external project team i.e. shipyard, naval architects, and sub-contractors. Prepare for and represent at project meetings, including overseas. Reporting to the Team Principal and Project Manager at regular intervals on progress of tasks and update with project work both internally and at the shipyard. Regularly review projects to ensure they are delivered within budget for time allocated, constantly mindful of identifying efficiencies. Working closely with the creative teams to meet design brief.
