GovNet is seeking a highly motivated Apprentice Accounts Assistant to join our Manchester based finance team. Role Overview
We’ll invest in you to develop the knowledge, skills, and experience you need to build your career. At least six hours of your week will be spent training or studying towards your Level 3 AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting. The Apprentice Accounts Assistant will support the finance department with various accounting tasks and gain valuable experience in a professional environment.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to build foundational skills in accounting while contributing to the success of our dynamic organisation. This flexible apprenticeship programme combines live interactive learning sessions with virtual learning resources and additional support from AAT coaches and trainers.
Duties include:
1. Process invoices, payments, expenses and other financial transactions.
2. Provide accounts support to the finance team, ensuring efficient processing of financial transactions.
3. Monitoring the purchase ledger inbox and handling stakeholder correspondence.
4. Collaborate with team members on financial projects and tasks.
Skills and requirements
1. A keen and demonstrable interest in finance and accounting.
2. Strong numeracy and analytical skills with attention to detail.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
4. Completion of AAT Level 2, or A-Levels in Maths or Accounting, is desirable.
5. To be eligible to start an apprenticeship, you must be aged 16+, have the right to work in England and not have a higher qualification in this subject area.
