We have an exciting opportunity to join our corporate accountancy team overseeing the Council’s treasury function. You will manage the Council’s treasury activities, daily cashflows, investment and borrowing requirements and support the financial accounting function.
The role includes monitoring, forecasting and reporting the cashflow position of the Council; monitoring and providing financial advice on the Council’s borrowing and investment requirements; and providing expert technical accountancy advice with regards to the operation of the Treasury Management Code and the Code of Practice on Local Authority Accounting.
The Principal Accountant (Treasury) will also manage a team of Treasury staff and have responsibility for their ongoing development and the development of treasury processes.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will ensure consistently high quality treasury management support and advice is available to the Corporate Finance Manager and Head of Finance and Business Services.
You will be a CCAB or CIMA qualified accountant with experience of managing daily cashflows, borrowing and banking. You will have highly proficient PC skills and experience operating financial ledger systems and associated reporting tools. With the ability to manage competing demands and prioritise effectively with a high degree of resilience.
