Job Description:
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll ensure a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can perform their jobs effectively. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first-class care and support.
You can expect plenty of variety in this role. You'll handle various tasks within the care home building as well as in the gardens and grounds. This could mean fixing a leaky tap one minute and planting new bulbs the next. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team, and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. You'll also need to liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team.
ABOUT YOU
The wellbeing of our residents will be your top priority. You should have hands-on experience in property maintenance, at least one trade skill, and ideally, a proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks. Reliability and flexibility regarding your working hours are essential. A full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are also required.
REWARDS PACKAGE
In return for your dedication, you'll receive a competitive rate of pay plus our sector-leading benefits and rewards package, including:
1. Free training and development for all roles
2. Access to wellbeing and support tools
3. A range of retail discounts and savings
4. Unlimited referrals with our 'Refer a Friend' bonus scheme
5. 'Employee of the Month' rewards and Long Service Awards
If you'd like to use your maintenance and people skills in an organisation that provides the quality care you'd expect for your loved ones, this is a rewarding place to be.
Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy, you might need a work permit.
