The position is currently based in our procurement office in Portsmouth.

Hours: 20 Hours Per week (Monday to Friday 8am - 12pm)
We have an exciting opportunity available for a part-time Supply Chain Assistant working 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am - 12pm to join NHS South of England Procurement Services at the Queen Alexandra Hospital and its forward-thinking Supply Chain Team.
The Supply Chain Assistant is a key role and requires a professional, hard-working and motivated individual who is expected to have an understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations. The use of hand-held bar code readers would be useful; however, it is not essential as full training will be provided. Experience of working in a customer services environment is required.
To succeed in this post, you must have excellent communication, interpersonal skills, time management skills, attention to detail, and a working knowledge of computers for emails, stock maintenance systems, and other requirements.
Applicants must be able to lift, carry, handle, and transport goods across sites, be trustworthy and reliable, and able to handle confidential items. Applicants will be required to undertake any further training required for the role.
This is an extremely busy and interesting department to work in, and we are one of the most advanced supply chain departments within the NHS. You will meet a different challenge every day, and the successful candidates will be an integral part of the team providing our customers a first-class service for the administration of their assets and overall application of its lifecycle, with a track record of coordinating and organizing stock.
* Level 2 qualification/GCSE higher pass or above including maths and English or equivalent qualifications, or work experience that demonstrates comparable ability in a similar field.

* Clear literate handwriting and numeracy skills.
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* Ability to work safely under pressure.
