We are WSP - Join us and make your career future ready!
In today’s world it’s important to work for a company that has clear purpose, giving back to communities and supporting what is truly important in the world.
To meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations we are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Lighting & Energy Solutions team.
YOUR NEW ROLE, WHAT'S INVOLVED?
You will provide low voltage electrical design and consultancy services for nationally significant clients, supporting technical leads on complex engineering projects. The type of work we undertake is extremely varied but includes:
* Small and large scale Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure feasibility studies, design, and technical assurance roles.
* Specification and design of renewable energy generation & energy storage systems.
* The design of innovative urban realm regeneration projects.
* Highway electrical design and assurance across local authority and National Highways client bases.
No two days will be the same, but you could be expected to:
* Support the design team lead on larger scale projects focusing on high-quality outputs.
* For smaller scale projects carry out a discipline lead role and be accountable for your disciplines resourcing.
* Contribute within project meetings and reviews.
* Coordinate and communicate with other design teams and stakeholders.
* Depending on your knowledge and experience, mentor and develop other technicians and engineers.
WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:
* A track record of performing to a high standard in low voltage electrical design.
* Knowledge and experience in the UK electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure sector.
* Willingness to develop and grow by taking responsibility for your technical output.
* Evidence of being a confident communicator.
* Hold City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulation certification (C&G 2382).
* Experience with software packages like AutoCAD is beneficial.
