Hereford County Hospital serves a rural community over a large geographical area in a very beautiful part of the country. The department prides itself on its supporting and friendly team, which has the delivery of high standard emergency care at its heart.
The successful applicant will join a team whose main aim is to ensure that the highest standards of Emergency Medicine are delivered by the department.
The post holder will be a GP who will work within the minor illnesses area.
Main duties of the job
Main responsibilities:
You will be expected to provide evidence based clinical care to all patients who are attending the service and undertake duties consistent with it, including but not limited to:
* Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
* Work as part of the team to provide safe and effective care to patients in a timely manner
* Provide cross cover for colleagues to ensure adequate staffing and safe delivery of the service
The post is part of our expansion of the workforce within the Emergency Department.

Education/ Qualifications
Essential
* Fully Qualified GP with GMC Registration
* Full Professional Indemnity
* Must be authorised to work in the EEC
Desirable
* Evidence of CPD
* Experience of Teaching
* Postgraduate Qualification in Medical Management or Medical Leadership

* Previous and current experience of working in primary care and an emergency care setting
Skills
Essential
* Excellent clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis and management of acute primary care presentations
* Organised and efficient record keeping and completion of paperwork
* Time management - able to prioritise and work under pressure
* IT skills - computer literate, able to adopt and work with new clinical IT systems
Desirable
* Experience and skills in assessing patients with injuries and type 1 presentations
