The Role The Building Surveyor apprentice is expected to support the Surveying team, they are to work with the surveying team to provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all types of building types and sites. You will be responsible for the following: • Working with the Surveying team to inspect and provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all types of buildings and sites. • Inspections to involve acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys and defect investigations. • To prepare reports, schedules of work and works specifications. • To design and oversee works using recognised building contracts and to current technical standards. • To develop an understanding and apply other relevant legislation such as health and safety, party wall, building regulations and planning. • At all times to comply with the requirements of the Company’s administrative, personnel procedures and Health & Safety regulation The Team Gateley Smithers Purslow’s goal is to be recognised as the firm for solving complex building, construction and property issues for commercial and private clients, the public sector and the insurance claims market. The Person • Entry Requirements: Applicants for this course will need to meet the standard BSc (Hons) Building Surveying FT/SW entry qualifications: 120 UCAS Tariff points from three A-levels or equivalent qualifications, GCSES – English and Maths grade C/4 • Some experience and working knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planning practices and procedures supported by an awareness of the latest statutory requirements and technical publications • Some experience and understanding of CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall and Building Regulation legislation • Experience of working to deadlines • The ability to think methodically. • Creative problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills About You About Us The benefits With support, coaching and feedback from some of the most engaging colleagues around our great development and progression opportunities will reward your commitment and loyalty.
