With 1200+ lawyers, 300+ partners, 28 offices and 17 jurisdictions we are looking to expand our IT Services team, with the addition of a Data Steward Manager - 6 month FTC.
The opportunity for you
We are seeking a Supervisor to oversee and work with a team of Data Stewards in our office based in Liverpool. The team support various business services areas, such as Risk Management, Finance and Business Development, and is responsible for cleansing and maintaining client and matter data which is vital for compliance, billing, business development and firm reporting purposes. The team's objective is to achieve data quality and consistency across the firm's relevant databases.
Key responsibilities
* Responsible for supervising a team of Data Stewards, including the day to day workload and ensuring the team is meeting service level commitments.
* Ensuring effective systems are in place in relation to work scheduling, work distribution and work prioritisation.
* Responsible for cleansing and maintaining client and matter data in compliance with regulatory obligations.
* Running searches to identify incomplete or inaccurate data, and updating as required.
* Checking and verifying new data entries to ensure minimum data standards.
* Working closely with the business and key stakeholders to address data quality issues.
* Reviewing processes and procedures to ensure best practice is always implemented.
* Responsible for processing change requests to existing clients and matters where a risk review is not required.
* Conducting regular housekeeping tasks within the firm's various databases in order to maintain an efficient and streamlined process.
* Supporting the Head of Risk with identifying, documenting and promoting team best practice in order to support the team's efforts to standardise processes and approaches.
* Supporting the Head of Risk with effective development of the team, including training, conducting performance reviews and providing learning opportunities.
Knowledge, skills and experience
* Previous experience in a data steward role essential.
* Excellent IT and administrative skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience of compliance and practice management systems in a law firm is desired.
* Experience supervising and training team members is desired.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to research and succinctly present information compiled from various sources.
* Experience in dealing effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.
* Able to manage day to day workload, and delegate effectively.
* Strong team ethic demonstrating awareness of work levels in the wider team, and a willingness to provide assistance to others where required.
* Able to adapt to new processes and technology.

Education/Experience
* Experience working in a legal or other professional environment.
* Experience of practice management, compliance and IT systems desired, but not essential.
