Senior Quality Engineer - Stockton-On-Tees
To support the Project Quality Manager in delivering a professional Quality Management service within resource, programme and budgetary constraints, which satisfies legislative, regulatory, company and customer requirements. The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the specific Quality requirements are identified, implemented, and maintained concurrent with the project life cycle and will hold current CSWIP, BGAS, or PCN certification. In addition, the Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing the Inspection resource, with regard to availability and location to support specific work packages and off-site supply chain activities. This role is based 3 days a week in Teesside.
Responsibilities
1. Support the Project Quality Manager with the promotion of bp NZT/NEP or H2T requirements, expectations, and needs throughout the project team and the supply chain.
2. Support the Project Quality Manager in implementing the approved quality management system.
3. Assist the project to deliver the works right first time to the specified quality.
4. Manage the Inspection resource and be the decision authority in disagreements between the Costain/Customer appointed Inspector and that of the subcontractor or supplier.
5. Lead or be part of the auditor team for project audits on Costain and the supply chain.
6. Apply the requirements of the Subcontractor/Supplier Quality Requirements Specification, ensuring the product quality is given the highest priority to achieve Right 1st Time.
7. Assign Costain Hold, Witness, and Review intervention points to subcontractor and supplier Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and manage their implementation, including the review and approval of the related Inspection & Test Reports (ITRs) and other associated Quality Records.
8. Identify potential failures/symptoms that could lead to non-conformances and apply preventive action.
9. Drive and embed the Quality Surveillance/Right 1st Time Programme within the project team and supply chain.
10. Control all release of material and equipment from source and site construction activities, ensuring prior close out of non-conformances, concession requests, etc.
Qualifications
HNC or Degree qualified in Quality Management.
Must be CSWIP 3.2 Senior Inspector. BGAS or PCN level 2 NDT Techniques and BGAS or PCN level 2 for coating inspectors. Oil & Gas experience, particularly in gas pipelines, and a comprehensive understanding of pipeline industry standards - API, ASME, ASTM, BS, GIS, GEM, and PD.
Competent with quality management systems and document management systems.
