We are looking for a professional, efficient, and approachable School Receptionist to join our team on a temporary, agency basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic educational setting and be the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors. The Role: As a School Receptionist, you will be responsible for managing the reception area, answering calls, and providing general administrative support to the schools leadership and staff. You will be the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and students, providing a warm, professional, and efficient service. This role is essential to maintaining the smooth day-to-day operation of the school. Key Responsibilities: Greet visitors, parents, and students in a friendly and professional manner. Answer phone calls, direct inquiries to the appropriate person, and take accurate messages. Manage the schools visitor sign-in system and issue visitor passes. Maintain school attendance records and assist with the monitoring of student absences. Handle general administrative tasks, including filing, photocopying, and data entry. Prepare and distribute school communications, such as newsletters and notices. Support the school office with stock management and ordering supplies. Assist with the organisation of school events and meetings as required. Manage the schools incoming and outgoing post. Ensure that all safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed. Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role and adhere to school policies. What Were Looking For: Previous experience working in a receptionist or administrative role, ideally within a school or education setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite). Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Professional attitude and appearance, with a customer service-oriented approach. A positive, friendly demeanor and a passion for working with children and families. An understanding of safeguarding policies and the importance of maintaining confidentiality. A DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) is required.
