Job Summary
Horns Drove Community Childcare currently have a variety of vacancies including Childcare Practitioner, Senior Practitioner and Room Leader.
The Ideal candidates will have a passion for working with children and possess the skills necessary to create a safe, engaging and educational environment. This role involves managing daily activities, providing care and fostering the development of children in a nursery setting. Strong communication skills in English are essential for effectively interacting with children and their families.
Responsibilities
Supervise and engage with children in a pre-school setting, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
Communicate effectively with children, providing guidance and support to encourage positive behaviour.
Maintain a clean and organised environment, ensuring that all toys are equipment are safe and suitable for use.
Manage daily routines including meals, naps, and playtime while maintaining a structured environment.
Foster positive relationships with children and their families through regular communication and updates on their child's progress.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the childcare area to ensure a safe play environment.
Demonstrate leadership skills by guiding junior staff or volunteers in childcare practices (Senior and Room Leader positions).
To carry out role of Designated Safeguarding Person in the absence of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (Senior and Room Leader positions)
To work alongside the senior management team to uphold compliance to OFSTED standards. (Senior and Room Leader positions)
Qualifications
Previous experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is essential together with a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with children and parents.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanour in a busy environment.
A genuine passion for childcare and the ability to drive children's learning through play-based activities.
Leadership qualities that inspire confidence and trust among colleagues and families alike.

A £250 bonus is paid on satisfactory completion of probation and a further £250 after one year's service.
