Job Summary:
We are supporting our client, a large non-profit organization based in Washington, DC, in their search for an experienced Software Architect/Senior Software Engineer. This is a direct hire position, ideal for candidates interested in a hybrid work arrangement located in Oxford, UK office.
In this role, you will design, implement, and manage scalable cloud solutions, with a primary focus on AWS and additional expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as a plus. As part of the Foundational & Technology Operations vertical within the Global Technology Services (GTS) division, you will lead cloud automation, security, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes management, and DevOps practices. Collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, you will drive innovation in cloud infrastructure, ensuring efficiency, security, and seamless deployment of enterprise solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. 10+ years of experience in application development/solution architecture.
2. Cloud Architecture & Development: Design, implement, and manage scalable AWS cloud solutions, with GCP experience as a plus.
3. Infrastructure Automation: Develop and manage infrastructure automation with Terraform, focusing on security and scalability.
4. Kubernetes Expertise: Deploy and manage AWS EKS clusters, optimizing performance and scalability.
5. CI/CD & DevOps: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and containerization strategies.
6. Security & IAM Management: Work on Org Units, IAM roles, and implement DevSecOps best practices.
7. Cloud-Native & Serverless Computing: Utilize AWS serverless frameworks to enhance scalability and efficiency.
8. Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with software and AI engineering teams while mentoring junior engineers.
9. Legacy Workflow Integration: Manage ArgoCD, Airflow, Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Bamboo pipelines.
10. Technical Ownership: Act as a tech owner for software products, liaising with stakeholders and presenting cloud solutions.
11. Continuous Learning: Stay updated with cloud and AI advancements, driving innovation and modern architecture solutions.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor in Science or better in Computer Engineering or related field.
2. Certifications in AWS Solutions Architect Professional and Kubernetes.
3. Knowledge of publisher IT environments.

Required Experience:
1. 10+ years: Application development/solution architecture experience, with at least 7 years in AWS.
2. 5+ years: Strong communication and leadership skills, experience in DevOps tools, Infrastructure as Code, and security best practices.
3. Proficiency in Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools: Expertise in cloud automation, container orchestration, and build/deployment strategies.
4. Cloud-Native & Serverless: Experience in AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and event-driven architecture.
5. Technical Ownership: Proven experience in architecting IT solutions, managing cloud infrastructure, and working with AI/ML applications (preferred but not required).
