Learning Apprentice: Young People’s Skills and Communities, London Transport Museum
London Transport Museum’s Learning and Participation Programmes ignite curiosity to shape the future, catalysing the stories of London transport to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
Salary: £25,294

Location: Based in offices at Leicester Square, with regular work at museum sites in Covent Garden and Acton.
Duration: 18 months
Entry requirements:
2 GCSEs level 4 (Grade C and above) or Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English.
You are not eligible for this scheme if you currently hold or are working towards a qualification at the same or higher level in a related subject or have already studied content from the qualification for this scheme.
Please note that you will be required to provide original certificates as proof for your eligibility checks.
You must be 18 years of age before the start date (September 2025) to be eligible for this scheme.
The role requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check arranged by the museum before you start.

Job overview
As an apprentice, your 1.5 year development programme will support the Young People’s Skills and Communities team with the organisation, communications and delivery of two of our programming strands; Creative Careers and Communities.
- The Communities programme works with community partners in Covent Garden and Acton to open up access to museum spaces and resources.
- The Creative Careers programme is for young people seeking careers in the creative sector.
Sustainability: Sustainability is intrinsic to TfL’s work ethos, and we ensure that we operate in a sustainable way to protect and regenerate the natural world.
What will I be doing?
These apprenticeships support the Young People’s Skills and Communities team to deliver a range of inspiring learning activities and opportunities for young Londoners and community partners. You will:
* Plan and deliver creative projects and events for young people and community partners.
* Support the delivery of our ongoing programme of events and activities.
* Support and manage the programme’s administration.
* Build positive and lasting relationships with colleagues and partners.
* Make a difference to the lives of other young Londoners.
* Work as part of a team that will also include another apprentice and Young Freelancers.
Where can this career take me?
Alumni have gone on to work in the charity sector delivering museum learning programmes, supporting vulnerable adults, and into youth work.
