Shift: Night (7p-7:30a x2 and 11p-7:30a x2 per week, rotating weekends and holidays)
Pay Range: $17.50-23.55 per hour with applicable shift differential. Base pay dependent on experience.
The Nursing Assistant assists in patient care throughout nursing areas, responsible for the safe transport of patients, dispatch services, and appropriate documentation of services rendered. Functions as an Observer for any patient on a care unit requiring constant observation to maximize safety.
Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care: Demonstrates skills and judgment necessary to provide care under the supervision of licensed personnel.
o Observes, obtains, and reports patient data/status to assigned RN.
o Responds to peaks in acuity and emergent situations as directed by nursing staff.
2. Professional Development: Maintains current knowledge/certification.
o Maintains BLS certification.
o Functions as a preceptor to new employees.
o Displays the ability to accept and respond appropriately to feedback.
o Demonstrates professional working relationships with colleagues.
o Accountable for being informed about changes in hospital policy.
3. Safety/Quality: Fosters a “Culture of Safety.”
o Verifies patient identification with 2 identifiers prior to procedures.
o Understands individual roles in hospital codes and emergency preparedness.
o Complies with CDC hand hygiene guidelines and universal precautions.
o Conducts patient safety rounds utilizing SBAR principles.
o Demonstrates proper body mechanics and use of patient lifts.
4. Technology:
o Utilizes required software applications.
o Understands how to operate in downtime.
5. Compliance:
o Works within legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
o Safeguards privacy and security of patient information.
o Complies with mandatory education requirements.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.
Minimum Work Experience: Previous Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience preferred.
Required Classes/Skills: BLS - Basic Life Support.
