Summary / Role Purpose The R&D Engineer II contributes to the development of software and supporting systems for ConceptEV, a cloud-based electric vehicle simulation tool. In this role, the R&D Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals and use technical and problem-solving skills to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Perform development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems • Perform bug verification, testing and beta support • Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions using a combination of software engineering skills and understanding of physical principles • Participate and contribute to regular planning meetings • Work in a team under the general supervision of a lead developer Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience • BSc/MSc in Physics, Maths, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 2 years of experience, or PhD with no experience • Experience of software development and/or computational numerical analysis in a commercial or academic setting with the use of Python • Passion for creating high-quality software solutions to multi-physics problems Preferred Qualifications and Skills • Exposure to software development processes including automated testing and version control • Strong aptitude in Physics and Mathematics • Experience with cloud technologies including REST APIs • Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team • Knowledge of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid topologies At Ansys, we know that changing the world takes vision, skill, and each other.
