GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist secondary provision in Slough that supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, often accompanied by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a unique opportunity to join a close-knit, supportive team committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning and develop the tools they need to succeed—both inside and outside the classroom. What You'll Be Doing: Providing 1:1 and small group support to students aged 11–16 Assisting in managing behaviour through calm, consistent communication Supporting pupils with personalised learning and emotional regulation Working alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team of educators and therapists Creating a safe, structured and encouraging environment for learning Who We’re Looking For: Experience supporting young people with SEMH and/or ASD (in education, care, or youth settings) Emotionally resilient, patient, and able to stay calm under pressure Passionate about inclusive education and committed to long-term student development Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) This is more than a classroom role—it’s a chance to build trust, restore confidence, and give young people a renewed sense of possibility.
