About the role
A SENd Learning Assistant is needed for a specialist school in Northumberland. The school caters for a broad spectrum of special needs with the children aged 2-19.
You will be working with children on the Autistic spectrum and will need to have the ability to use different strategies to support learning and the needs of the child.
You must demonstrate a positive and willing attitude.
Necessities of a SENd Learning Assistant
1. Experience of working with children who have Autism or SENd is desirable but not essential
2. Experience working in school environments
3. Ability to hold student attention and focus with excellent communication skills
4. Promote happiness, self-reliance and encourage positive interactions
5. Experience working as a SENd Learning Assistant is desired
