HealthCare Support Worker (37 hrs)
We currently havea vacancy in our Nursing Department for aHealth Care Support Worker to join our busyteam.
The candidatesmust ideally be competent phlebotomists however, training can be provided.Experience in Health Care essential.
Working hours willbe (1hr lunch), 4 days a week.
Main duties of the job
Working under the direct supervision of the Senior& Deputy Practice Nurse and strictly in accordance with specific Practiceguidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the Practiceclinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patientcare.
Duties and Responsibilities:
BP Monitoring / New patient health checks/CVD screening / ECG recording / Phlebotomy / Urinalysis / Chaperoning duties / Processing and management of laboratory samplesrequested by GPs/Nurses /Maintenance of surgical equipment and assistingwith minor & theatre surgical procedures / Correctly labelling all specimens and ensure theirsafe dispatch / Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring andrecording / Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms / Preparing and maintaining environments andequipment before, during and after patient care interventions includingassisting GPs during the performance of minor operations

Job Summary:

Main Duties:
BP Monitoring.
New patient health checks/CVD screening.
ECG recording.
Phlebotomy.
Urinalysis.
Chaperoning duties.
Assisting the surgeons with minor operations and theatre surgical procedures.
Organisation of stock levels and ordering.
Correctly labelling all specimens and ensuring their safe dispatch.
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording.
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms.
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care.
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual.
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted.
Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being.
Providing care to housebound patients in their home/ care home.
To form and maintain good working relationships with all members of the Primary Health Care Team colleagues and members of attached staff.
