In this role, you'll play a key role in helping us to create scientific software that makes a real impact to people’s lives, whether its developing COVID tests and vaccines, helping scientists detect cancer, ensuring food safety or helping scientists develop biodegradable plastics – our work has a real benefit to the world Working as a tester in an agile environment with developers, scientists, product management, and QA, you'll be involved from an early stage in all project activities, from requirements analysis through to release planning. The testing itself focuses on web-based applications running on our waters_connect Platform. The role covers everything from functional and performance testing to usability tests, acceptance tests, automated tests and more. What can we offer you? As a Software Test Engineer, you main responsibilities would include: Working collaboratively as part of a cross-discipline agile team to incrementally deliver software. Understanding customer requirements and creating test cases from those requirements. Ensuring the test approach is appropriate for the project or task. Discuss overall risks and trends. Performing manual/exploratory tests on early-stage code. Contributing to the definition of an executable specification, written in Gherkin. Performing usability, functional, performance, exploratory and acceptance testing as the situation and product demands. We would love to hear from you if you: Experience in software testing. Experience of planning, estimating and scheduling of testing activities. Are keen and quick to learn new things, both in terms of testing techniques and the science behind our software. Enjoy engaging with others to understand and tackle problems. Feel comfortable talking to stakeholders to capture requirements, feedback and track down bugs. Share our ambition to continually improve and develop phenomenal products. We're also interested in candidates: With a degree (B.Sc, M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in a science related discipline. With test automation experience, including experience of Test Automation tools and techniques (e.g. Selenium, Specflow, SoapUI, etc.).
