Clinical Operational Manager for Speech and Language Therapy
An excellent secondment opportunity has arisen for a committed Speech and Language Therapist to take the next step in their career as a Clinical Operational Manager as part of the Speech and Language Therapy Team.
We are looking for individuals who share our strong value-based approach and have a specialist understanding of the support needs of people with a Learning Disability and/or Autism. The successful candidate will also be expected to hold a small caseload of cases for assessment and intervention in both communication and dysphagia.
This post includes the operational management and leadership of the Speech and Language Therapy Team, alongside the other operational managers.
Please note that this post is a full-time 12-month secondment, although we would consider applicants wanting part-time hours.

The individual will have strong communication skills and be a valued member of a team who aim to support service users.
Main Duties of the Job
Derbyshire Healthcare Speech and Language Therapy team has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and innovative Speech and Language Therapist, with dysphagia experience, to provide highly specialist clinical interventions, working with adults with learning disabilities across community settings.
Our Speech and Language Therapy team focuses on person-centered care and aims to deliver excellent care to our service users, their families, and carers, using interventions that are evidence-based and outcome-measured.
Working across Derby and South Derbyshire, and predominantly holding a small complex clinical caseload, the post holder will work across the community in various settings, delivering highly specialist assessment and intervention, working closely with service users and their carers and other professionals in Health and Social Care.
Alongside clinical work, the post holder will be required to provide operational management to the Speech and Language Team and will interface with other clinical operational managers across the Neurodevelopmental Service.

Knowledge/Skills
* Knowledge of professional code of conduct/capacity/risk/clinical governance/legal and ethical responsibility
* Evidence of development of specialist skills appropriate to post
* Evidence of leadership skills e.g., negotiation/conflict resolution
* Evidence of extensive knowledge of LD/Autism
Experience
* Experience of supporting people with dysphagia
* Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities
* Experience of working as a part of community MDTs
* Experience of management of junior speech and language therapists
* Understanding of DHCFT operational management policies
Qualification
* Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification
* RCSLT and HCPC registration
* Evidence of dysphagia experience

* Experiential training to demonstrate specialist skills
* Completion of short courses
