Job Title: PL Primary Stars and Education Coordinator

Location: Turf Moor, Facilities and Participating Schools in and around the Burnley area.

Working Pattern: 35 hours per week Mon – Fri

Salary: £22,500 – £26,000 per annum
The Role
To deliver Premier League Primary Stars and physical education in primary schools to a wide range of local schools and participants in line with the Education department and wider organisational objectives and vision. Delivery will take place at set schools through the week along with delivering one-off events and short-term programmes for the organisation.
Roles and Responsibilities
* To develop ways to actively recruit new schools to engage with the PL Primary Stars programme.
* To drive further income by recruiting schools to take part in other areas of the PL Primary Stars programme.
* To rotate responsibility for coordinating curriculum areas of the PL Primary Stars Programme, social action projects, teacher CPD education activations alongside other Education Coordinators.
* To build relationships with local organisations (Schools Sports Partnerships) to add value to the PLPS Programme.
* To act as the second point of contact for the PL Charitable Fund Schools Programme Executive.
* This role will be required to support the Education Manager to quality assure PL Primary Stars.
* To support the delivery and development of multiple national awareness days, for example, World Book Day, Black History Month, Anti-Bullying week, Power of Youth etc.
* To rotate responsibility to drive and coordinate mascot and player appearances in schools and the curriculum programmes.
* To undertake Premier League training and provide feedback to the PLPS team when required.
* To support the Education Manager in developing and continually reviewing the BFCitC PL Primary Stars Curriculum, social action projects, education activations, and stadium visits.
* Liaise with the Education Manager to monitor the delivery against targets and ensure that targets are achieved.
* Assist the Education Manager in the preparation of the bi-annual Premier League report.
* Take responsibility for the delivery of the Premier League Primary Stars programme within a designated cohort of schools, on behalf of BFCitC.
* To ensure meticulous planning is conducted prior to each session that is delivered, with considerations made for individuals’ needs and requirements.
* To deliver the highest possible quality of sporting session, to a wealth of participants with varying abilities, needs, and demands, in a variety of different environments, including:
o National Curriculum Physical Education
o Extra-Curricular Sessions
o Soccer Schools and Holiday Camps
o Whole School Assemblies
o Recreational Sport Sessions
o Educational sessions (Literacy, Numeracy, and PSHE workshops).
* To continuously evaluate the success/standards of own work and that of others, through rigorous self and departmental reflection and analysis.
* To partake in the crucial processes of monitoring and evaluation, to ensure that the progress/impact of any given provision is reported to key funders in a timely and effective manner. This includes the use of regular registers and the Salesforce platform.
* To ensure that all stakeholders are kept safe and well, before, during, and after the delivery of a given session.
* Undertake any other duties appropriate to this role.
* To be able to work flexible and unsociable hours where the role of the job requires.

* Ensure the service is delivered and managed in accordance with the Charity’s safeguarding policies and procedures.

* To line manage a small team of staff completing appraisals and any other related formal processes.
* To develop confidence and competence by modelling good practice and acting as a mentor to the primary education team.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills
* NGB Level 2 Certificate in any sport.
* Level 1 and 2 Sports Coaching award on a second or multiple sports.
* Level 3 certificate in supporting PE and School Sports (AfPE).
* Full driving license and use of your own vehicle.
* 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above or equivalent.
* First Aid qualification.
* A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area of work.
* Experience working with young people.
* Experience of working on football/sports-based projects.
* Experience of working in a school setting.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Excellent IT skills including intermediate abilities in all MS Office programmes.
* Ability to monitor, evaluate and assess project performance.
* Time management skills to be able to plan and regulate workload including the ability to prioritise demands and thrive under pressure.
