Job Description
Head of Production is a key role at Shoreditch Town Hall, responsible for managing the smooth operation of all production and technical aspects (including staffing) of the events and artistic programme, as well as all matters relating to technical maintenance and health and safety. The Head of Production will ensure a consistently high level of service for all artists, event hirers and users of the building. They will work closely with the CEO and the Senior Management team.
Job Requirements
1. To manage the safe and efficient realisation of all technical aspects of all events and artistic activity in our various sized spaces at Shoreditch Town Hall including, but not limited to, in-house productions; touring productions & commercial event hires; ensuring the highest possible standard of delivery at all times.
2. To be responsible for the safe and efficient use of lighting, sound, video, staging and other technical equipment including rigging, focusing, patching and programming.
3. To comprehend, and work within, the parameters of Shoreditch Town Hall's Health & Safety policy, ensuring that all production and technical work at Shoreditch Town Hall is safe and conforms to current legislation and best practice.
4. To ensure all production activity adheres to CDM and HSE regulations and does not invalidate Shoreditch Town Hall's codes of practice.
Job Responsibilities
1. To act as a keyholder when necessary.
2. To be available for call outs outside of normal working hours during production and event periods and/or in emergency situations.
3. To attend regular meetings as required, and arrange event and/or artistic programme production meetings as necessary in liaison with the Head of Events and/or Head of Cultural Programme.
4. To keep up to date with all artistic activity taking place at Shoreditch Town Hall and maintain a broad overview of future projects and possibilities.
5. To publicly represent Shoreditch Town Hall in a prepared and professional manner.
6. To remain knowledgeable of wider developments and trends in the arts sector, as well as in current lighting, sound and stage technology.
7. To maintain confidentiality.
8. To undertake any other duties which may be reasonably requested to ensure the smooth running of Shoreditch Town Hall.
