Reporting to the Raytheon Senior Director and Deputy General Counsel - Strategy and International, this position will serve as a lead supporting Raytheon's international business pursuits. The position will work closely with other Raytheon LCC, RTX business units and corporate LCC colleagues, business partners in many parts of the organisation including colleagues in contracts, human resources/immigration, finance/tax, security, facilities, real estate, corporate governance, global ethics and compliance, global trade, Raytheon's internationally operating businesses, and Raytheon's domestically operating business that sell products and services internationally. The preferred candidate will have substantial legal experience advising on complex legal and regulatory transactions and compliance issues, and experience guiding businesses to address new legal and regulatory challenges and global growth. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Provide legal advice and strategic guidance related to a portfolio of countries in which Raytheon operates and/or sells, and serve as the primary legal advisor for Raytheon's business related to those countries, including in support of offset agreements, joint ventures, teaming arrangements, supply chain agreements, party and transactional due diligence, and corporate governance related to activities in assigned portfolio of countries. This position is required to partner directly with the Global Contracts function to lead negotiations related to agreements with international customers and partners. - Provide sound legal guidance to Raytheon's Global Industrialisation team working on global contracts, offset and localisation efforts, proposals, agreements, negotiations, project development, and project execution in support of Raytheon Company's long term global strategy. - Serve, as needed, as a board member, or as an officer of Raytheon's international entities, including providing legal support, assisting in development of the short and long term strategic business planning, reviewing and advising on capture strategies for various pursuits, analysing and revising proposals, and creating solutions for the resolution of complex business operational matters. - Act as a senior leader within the Raytheon International Legal team with responsibilities which include development and maintenance of processes and procedures utilised by LCC and other functions; identifying and responding to changes in regulations/ legislation; creation and delivery of knowledge development content; stakeholder management of identified functional leadership and development of junior members of wider team. In addition, the successful candidate, in this position, will support process development and improvement projects, and will select, engage, and manage outside counsellors and other third-party advisors around the globe as required within company-established budgets. Experience and Qualifications : - Appropriate post qualification experience demonstrating your relevant legal experience in international transactional, compliance, and/or regulatory matters - Law degree from an accredited University in the UK - Be a member of the Law Society/The Legal Services Board/the Bar Council. - Experience evaluating cross-border transactional structuring and requirements for a legal presence and operations in non-U.S. jurisdictions - Ability to engage enthusiastically and collaboratively with stakeholders and contributors from multiple levels of the organisation, and to foster positive working relationships with peers, internal clients, and external customers - Ability to identify risks associated with international transactions and legal establishment matters, while retaining the ability to think and work proactively, strategically and creatively - Proactive with strong intrinsic motivation and high degree of ownership - Familiarity with non-U.S. corporate governance operational requirements - Basic understanding of comparative law including the differences between common law and civil law jurisdictions - Excellent writing, drafting, interpretation, and negotiating skills - Strong leadership skills, sound judgment, and meticulous attention to detail - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including for internal and reports, and executive level briefings - Ability to interact effectively, collegially, and collaboratively in a team environment with multiple levels of the organisation and maintain strong relationships with personnel within team, peers, internal clients including executives, and external customers - Ability to learn quickly, influence senior leadership, work independently with minimal supervision - Well-organised, with strong project management skills and the ability to prioritise and manage a high-volume workload (multiple projects at once) and drive issues to timely conclusion, provide timely responses, and set/manage deadline expectations - Ability to travel domestically in the U.S. and internationally as needed - Multi-lingual (although not critical) or comfortable with working with matters and people using many different languages, and around the globe These items are a plus: - Experience advising and counselling in the aerospace and defence sectors or in high-tech industries RTX adheres to the principles of equal employment.
