Neve Fleetwood also forms part of Direct Seafood’s within the Bidfresh Group, a principal British supplier of fresh meat, fish and produce to the catering industry; a national supplier with strong local heritage. The spectrum of our client base reaches from care homes to Michelin star restaurants, and our vision is to be every chef’s first choice for fresh ingredients.
We are now looking for a fresh fish buyer to join our growing team.
As a buyer, you will ensure appropriate stock levels, manage waste, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure that the company delivers its objectives and remains competitive.
Salary is dependent on experience.
Responsibilities include:
* Overseeing and maintaining appropriate stock levels in line with demand
* Negotiating prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers
* Updating costs in systems
* Maintaining PO system
* Managing an effective supplier selection and approval process
* Managing supplier performance and incoming product quality
* Working alongside the sales team regarding route to market
* Working alongside the factory to manage stock and waste
* Contributing to our continuous improvement and optimisation plans

* Strong influencing and negotiating skills in managing product costs and income
* Commercially-aware purchasing professional with food market knowledge and relevant experience gained in a similar role
* Effective communicator at all levels
* An awareness of the latest industry practices and supplier bases

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, MS Word, and Excel)
