The Operations Manager is a key member of the Site Installation Technician team that has overall responsibility for the management of a large team of up to 45 He will report to the UK Head of Site installation With a strong focus in leadership the Operations Manager will ensure that sufficient highly motivated and well-trained technician resources are available for deployment in line with the project forecast requirements. At any one time your team will be allocated across a number of Offshore Wind Power projects that are in the execution phase and are likely to be working across a variety of geographic locations around the UK, Europe and beyond. Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to: Leadership and mentoring of a remote team of technicians embracing Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) company values along with world class EHS standards and ethics Remote management and effective communication with of a large team of UK based, globally deployed Technicians Managing effective collaborative working relationships across geographical and cultural boundaries, with the ultimate driver being efficient and timely delivery of the offshore wind farm projects Support the business to devise and implement new ways of working that drive efficiency and performance Maintaining a high utilisation level of your technician team by proactive and effective communication with the resource planning teams Management of end to end recruitment campaigns and assessment centres that support business requirements and headcount forecasts Ensuring all team members have a clear time bound development plan that is followed through to support project delivery Management of 360-degree technician feedback process from site Management of leave applications ensuring consistency of approach along with accurate recording in project plans, thereby maintaining anticipated resource availability at all times Accurate updating of all required technician deployment data in project planning tools being used, e.g. Planisware Punctual delivery of suitably inducted and trained technicians equipped with all necessary documentation, certification and PPE in line with project deployment dates Management of overseas deployment delegation process What you need to make a difference A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for… This role requires proven experience within Operations Management preferably in a large and complex environment A background in a technical or engineering related discipline with supporting qualifications (HNC/Degree) would be a distinct advantage You will have previous experience of leading teams and delivering through a motivated team You will also be adept at building and managing customer relationships along with being commercially astute The ideal candidate will understand how to interpret financial performance within their own area and the impact their decisions could have on operational metrics.
