Working as part of a team and with the Kitchen Manager, you will have a passion for cooking and an interest in providing healthy, cooked meals to our staff and inmates. In addition, you will be responsible for supporting the catering function, ensuring that the cleanliness within the kitchen and dining area is maintained to a high standard including attention to matters of health & safety and hygiene regulations. To be eligible for this role, due to the sector requirements: you must have been a UK resident for the past 3 years and have legal right to work in the UK and be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks. What we offer: £12.50 per hour This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, 5 days over 7. A day in the life of a Kitchen Assistant: Basic food preparation of items including cold food. Following H&S procedures. Stock rotation and managing deliveries. Cleaning the kitchen. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient service. General cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas Basic food preparation and serving Maintaining equipment and all work areas to a high standard of health and safety. You will be set up for success if you have: Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Must have eligibility to work in the UK and have resided for longer than 3 years. Security checks are required for this role and DBS are needed.
