As an experienced coordinator who loves working with people, excels in organisation and data management for volunteers and foster carers. You will welcome and support all of the amazing people who volunteer their time to help care for our animals. You will help vulnerable animals receive the love and care they need on the way to adoption and their new families.
About The Role
AWLQ is contracted by the Brisbane City Council to manage the Warra Animal Rehoming Centre and provides service to the community and their pets.
The Foster and Volunteer Coordinator provides support, training, and administration management of new and existing Rehoming Centre volunteers and foster carers.
As the Foster Coordinator you are responsible for placing neonate animals, animals requiring medical treatment, or behaviour rehabilitation into suitable foster homes. Onboarding new foster carers, updating records, managing Veterinary rechecks and foster returns.
You will also use your animal health and care knowledge to support and educate foster carers regarding the care of their foster animal.
As the Volunteer coordinator, you will onboard new volunteers, provide training and support regarding their roles, and manage rosters ensuring all areas of the Rehoming centre, from animal care to drivers, are resourced.
You will regularly engage and communicate with foster carers and volunteers regarding animals in care, program updates, and the positive impact of their time and dedication. You will look for ways to support and improve the programs and put forward ideas.
What are the minimum requirements for this position?
* 2+ years experience in a volunteer or people coordinator role
* 3+ years experience in an administration role
* Relevant certificate or diploma in training, volunteer management, animal care
* Valid Blue card
* Knowledge and experience of volunteer legislation and WHS
* Knowledge of animal health and behaviour
* Strong computer literacy across a range of programs including Microsoft Office Suite
* Be willing to complete a police clearance check
