This Assistant Accountant role has become available following the retirement of a long-standing team member and an internal promotion within our Finance Team. As such, we are looking for a motivated individual to step into this position and help support our continued growth. We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Part-Qualified Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their accounting skills and gain exposure to an international business environment. The role offers full study support for ACCA/CIMA qualifications, ensuring continued professional development. Key Responsibilities: Reconciling banks on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. Supporting the Management Accountant with the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Preparing management information for one of the entity’s business units, ensuring clarity and accuracy of financial data. Reconciling and paying agents' commission, ensuring that all payments are accurate and on time. Assisting with sales and purchase ledger duties as necessary, supporting the Finance Team with routine tasks. Providing payroll cover during absence, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll. Assisting with the audit of the UK Holding Companies, including support with statutory accounts preparation (beneficial but not essential). Support with VAT returns and other regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with tax obligations. Assisting with the posting of credit card expenditure and ensuring that records are accurate and up to date. Supporting the roll-out of a new expense management system, helping with system implementation and training where necessary. About You: Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA (or working towards). A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes. Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines. Excellent communication skills and a team player. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Experience with SAP B1 is beneficial but not essential. Previous experience in an accounting role within a manufacturing or similar environment would be an advantage but not essential. Working Hours and Benefits: Competitive salary and benefits package. 35 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times. 25 days annual leave entitlement plus bank holidays 4% employer pension contribution.
