We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Reception Year Teacher to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to support young learners with additional needs, ensuring they receive the best possible start to their education journey. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing engaging and tailored learning experiences. This role begins May 2025.
Duties as a SEN Reception Year Teacher:
1. Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching for Reception children with SEN.
2. Differentiate lessons to meet individual learning needs and EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets.
3. Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment.
4. Work closely with SENCOs, teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to support each child’s development.
5. Use a range of communication strategies, including Makaton, PECS, and sensory integration techniques where appropriate.
6. Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
7. Ensure all safeguarding and SEN policies are upheld, promoting the welfare of children.
Ideal SEN Reception Year Teacher:
1. Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in Early Years and SEN teaching.
2. Has a strong understanding of EYFS and SEN best practices.
3. Is patient, empathetic, and skilled in managing diverse learning needs.
4. Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
5. Has excellent communication and collaboration skills as a SEN Reception Year Teacher.
6. Is committed to ongoing professional development in SEN education.
