We are seeking a Respiratory Chronic Disease Practice Nurse to work autonomously within their professional scope, providing patient care in a Practice Nurse capacity.
Main Duties
The Practice Nurse will manage their own patients and perform nursing duties such as smear taking, administering vaccines/injections, and conducting dressing clinics. Experience in Asthma and COPD management, including spirometry interpretation, is mandatory. The postholder will utilize their skills, knowledge, and competencies to oversee the ongoing management of patients.

Job Responsibilities
The Practice Nurse will work as part of the primary healthcare team, delivering Personal Medical Services to our patients. Responsibilities include:
1. Assisting with and performing routine patient care tasks as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs, such as cytology, suture removal, ECGs, asthma/peak flow readings/spirometry, venepuncture, and requesting pathology tests.
2. Chaperoning and assisting patients during examinations.
3. Managing stock, maintaining cleanliness and sterilization of equipment, and ensuring the tidiness of clinical areas.
4. Ordering health promotion literature, vaccinations, and supplies from the hospital.
5. Participating in administrative and record-keeping activities, and attending practice meetings.
6. Occasionally conducting home visits and undertaking other delegated duties.
7. Upholding confidentiality and data protection policies.
8. Implementing health and safety and infection control policies, including PPE management, sharps safety, waste management, and infection control training.
9. Supporting equality, diversity, and safeguarding initiatives.
10. Contributing to quality improvement, effective communication, and service development.
