NRL are currently looking for an Architectural Technologist to work for a leading engineering consultancy based out of Birchwood Park, Warrington. This is a contract role (inside IR35) and is to work on Sellafield projects on a hybrid basis.
The Role:
Report to the lead engineer and CS&A Responsible Engineer you will be scoping stages of building envelope projects before going for detailed design. For the Scoping Stage, a standard list of deliverables and template documents have been produced including a PFS / Scope of Work document, CS&A Technical Specification, Study Report and General Arrangement drawings. During framework partner led detailed design and installation stages, the team will be performing Intelligent Client role with oversight and assurance activities, review and acceptance of deliverables, some Safety Case work and answering of engineering queries.
The responsibilities will include:
1. Production of GAs and CS&A Technical Specification and input to / production of the Study Report and PFS / Scope of Work during scoping stages.
2. Delivery of Architectural GAs, Detailed Drawings, technical coordination of specialist design subcontractors, Technical Specification and input in to project an CDM documentation during detailed design stages
3. Liaison with stakeholders such as System Engineers, roofing / cladding suppliers, Construction Managers, Fire Safety, Fire Engineering, Protective Security Managers etc.
4. Site visits and inspections, and identification of defects and possible solutions.
5. Selection of an appropriate roofing / cladding / paint system.
6. Review of contractor deliverables during detailed design and support to CS&A RE for acceptance.
7. Answering engineering queries during detailed design and installation.
8. Supporting site inspections during installation
You will need:
9. Experience with and knowledge of roofing and cladding systems and specifications.
10. Experience dealing with and managing stakeholders.
11. Experienced in delivering work for SL (preferred).
12. Experience of reporting project progress (preferred)
13. A strong understanding of the challenges faced working on asset care tasks in the nuclear sector (preferred).
