We are seeking an Electronics Engineer with expertise in electronics design, prototyping, and testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analog and digital circuits, with additional experience in optical circuits and optical communication systems being a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop analog and digital electronic circuits, including low-noise amplifiers, power management, and signal processing components.
* Create and validate prototypes, conducting rigorous testing and analysis to ensure performance and reliability.
* Design and evaluate optical circuits, optical communication systems, and interfaces where required.
* Develop PCB layouts for multi-layer boards, ensuring compliance with performance and safety standards.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and support the integration of hardware with firmware and software.
* Perform debugging and fault analysis using tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, and logic analysers.
* Document designs, test results, and processes in accordance with quality and regulatory standards.
* Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on projects
Essential Skills:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in electronics design, prototyping, and testing, preferably within the medical device, high-tech or other regulated sector.
* Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design, including simulation and modelling tools (e.g., SPICE).
* Hands-on experience with PCB design tools such as Altium, Cadence, or KiCad.
* Experience with optical circuits and optical communication systems is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with low-power design and embedded systems is a plus.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems effectively.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Bonus Skills:
* Experience with wireless communication protocols (Bluetooth, RF).
* Experience with embedded C/C++ programming for microcontrollers.
* Experience in MATLAB or Python for data analysis and algorithm development.
* Familiarity working with Nordic and/or STM32 devices.
* Knowledge of FPGA programming (i.e. Systems Verilog).
* Familiarity of working with various communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART).
Reporting Structure:
This role is an integral part of the engineering team and reports directly to the VP of Engineering.
