Quantity Surveyor Job in Chichester, West Sussex
New job opening for a Quantity Surveyor to join a multidisciplinary consultancy in Chichester, West Sussex. Offering a salary of up to £55,000 plus benefits and hybrid working!
The multidisciplinary consultancy is made of 9 offices across the Southwest and South Coast, London, Manchester and circa 150 staff, they offer design, building surveying, quantity surveying, project management, town planning and urban design services to a multitude of different sectors including education, residential, commercial and the public sector. This role will be working on a variety of projects across these sectors for both refurbishment and new build projects. Open to Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor level, based from their Chichester or Maidstone office.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Working within the QS team reporting to the Associate QS
2. Manage projects in your geographical area
3. Participate in design team meetings with reporting and advice to clients
4. Quality check junior members of staff
5. Document management in accordance with QA procedures
6. Preparation of cost advice in accordance with RICS guidance notes (including order of cost estimates, viability reports, reinstatement cost assessments, formal cost plans, cash-flow forecasts, life cycle and whole life costs, etc.)
7. Preparation of tender documentation and administration of tender process
8. Preparation of contracts
9. Post-contract cost management (e.g. administering change control processes, valuing variations, assessing contractor's claims)
10. Preparing valuations for progress payments
11. Preparation of post contract cost reports
12. Preparation of final accounts
13. Attend and chair site meetings
Required Skills & Experience
1. 3+ Years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor
2. Consultancy background
3. Experienced in either residential, commercial, education projects
4. Ideally refurbishment and new build experience
5. Experienced in pre-contract through to final accounts
6. Ideally MRICS or working towards
7. Full UK Drivers Licence is essential
