OFFSHORE ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assembly and commissioning of electrical systems
2. Fault finding and troubleshooting electrical system faults
3. Actively maintaining and repairing electrical systems
4. Working as part of a skilled offshore team with a key focus on minimising equipment downtime
5. Actively contributing to equipment modifications and improvements
6. Completing detailed and concise daily/weekly reports
JOB CONTEXT, MAIN ACTIVITIES AND SCOPE:
1. Extensive experience working with Electro/Hydraulic systems
2. Served a recognized electrical apprenticeship
3. Demonstrable experience working offshore and in challenging marine environments
4. Minimum NVQ level 3 electrical engineering
5. City & Guilds level 3 electrotechnical studies
6. C&G 18th edition qualified
7. Good knowledge of 3 phase systems
8. In-depth knowledge of electrical motors and generators
9. Familiar with and confident working with PLC control systems
10. Good understanding of H&S practices and equipment legislation
11. Maintain a safe and effective working environment, ensuring all safe systems of work are effectively communicated and recorded to the relevant site operatives. Ensure compliance with these safe systems of work.
12. Work in accordance with the company management system.
13. Working 4-week rotations on a 7 day a week/12 hour a day shift pattern.
REQUISITE EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
1. Experienced in solving problems in challenging circumstances.
2. Experience of working to a pre-defined works program in challenging circumstances.
3. English speaking.
ADDITIONAL BENEFICIAL EXPERIENCE:
1. Use of hydraulic torque applicators
2. Heavy lifting operational/supervisory experience.
3. Mechanical/hydraulic fitting experience.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum NVQ level 3 electrical engineering
2. City & Guilds level 3 electrotechnical studies
3. C&G 18th edition qualified WAH
4. OEUK MEDICAL
5. BOSIET
