Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Service Manager (Older Peoples Residential & Day Care Services) within the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP). The Service Manager will report directly to the Head of Residential and Day Care Services and be responsible for the running of a purpose built bedded residential care home for older people with complex needs and associated day care services. To be successful in this role, you should have proven leadership and recent management experience with a comprehensive knowledge of legislation and policy that governs the delivery of social care services. Candidates will be required to demonstrate their ability to lead a large workforce, control and deliver all aspects of the service to ensure provision of sector leading care to vulnerable older people. You must possess a SVQ Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 9 (or an alternative practice qualification accepted by SSSC) AND SVQ Care Services Leadership and Management at SCQF Level 10 (or an alternative management qualification accepted by SSSC) Refer to the Person Specification for full details of essential and desirable criteria. Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along with SSSC Registration. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Check. Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees. Registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is an essential requirement for this role. You must either be already registered or have applied within 3 months and be registered within 6 months from your start date. These posts are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order (as amended). Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council is essential.
