Davenham have an exciting opportunity available for an Procurement & Materials Controller to join our team based in Fairham, Nottingham. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £30,420 per annum. About the role Hours: 37 hours (including unpaid 30 minutes lunch break) - 8-4.30 Mon-Thu, Fri 8 -1pm. As a Procurement & Materials Controller, youwill play a crucial role in ensuring inventory accuracy and material availability and for overseeing the coordination and execution of the company's operational plans and logistics operations. This role ensures seamless collaboration with other departments to align production plans with material availability, ensuring materials are at the production line in a timely fashion as well as efficient logistics processes. Your key duties as our Procurement & Materials Controller will include: Collaborating closely with other departments to ensure material availability and customer demand and proactively implement solutions if issues arise. Ensuring materials are in alignment with production schedules, to optimise operational capacity and meet customer requirements. Preparing materials for timely delivery to the production line on a daily basis. Overseeing logistics operations, working closely with forwarding agents & haulier companies including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products. Managing inventories to avoid material shortages and ensure alignment with production schedules. Monitoring and improving logistics processes to enhance delivery performance and reduce costs. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and company policies. What we are looking for in our Procurement & Materials Controller: Desirable: working towards a qualification in supply chain management, operations, logistics, business administration, transportation, engineering or equivalent. Experience in a similar position within a manufacturing setting. Strong knowledge of production planning, logistics, materials and inventory management principles. Strong team player. Exceptional organisational and analytical skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft packages, ERP, logistics and inventory software. Why work for us?
