ROLE OVERVIEW:
Hartree Partners is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Power Operator to join our London office on a full-time basis. The successful candidate would be responsible for optimizing our BM assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Ensure daily and/or hourly balancing in all Power market areas.
* Schedule activities and related processes covering Power across relevant European market areas and TSOs.
* Ensure coverage of scheduling tasks, including weekends (when on shift).
* Timely physical position management and accurate systems booking.
* Provide transparent, concise, and timely communication with commercial teams regarding physical positions, possible curtailments, and maintenance events (scheduled or unscheduled).
* Assist with the communication of work and changes to relevant internal and external parties or counterparties.
* Assist with onboarding and setup of relevant systems and new activities.
* Streamline business procedures and develop tools to maximize operational efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS:
* 2 years’ experience in UK power operations, especially experience with Balancing Mechanism
* B.A. degree or equivalent, preferably in a business, finance, STEM, or energy-related field.
* Proficiency in Excel & Word required.
* Experience in VBA, SQL & Python desired.
* Strong organizational and communication skills.
* Sound decision-making skills.
* Experience with ETRMs (including system configuration).
* Asset Optimization or Onboarding experience would be advantageous
* Operational experience in cross-border capacity markets would be advantageous
* Experience with position scheduling tools and nomination/scheduling-related portals.
* Experience in setting up technical processes (such as secured communication channels with system operators) is a plus.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and execute tasks timeously
* Ability to work independently with a structured manner
* Should display high motivation and energy levels
