Assistant Accountant
We have an opportunity for an experienced individual to join our dynamic, well-respected property consultancy business in Hull.
The successful applicant will have accounting experience and will be hardworking, reliable, and seeking to advance their career.
The ideal candidate will be confident, presentable, a good communicator, a team player, and able to use their own initiative as well as possessing a willingness to adapt and learn.
The role predominantly involves assisting the financial controller with the financial aspects of managing a large portfolio of residential and commercial properties across the UK. This includes:
1. Processing sales invoices for rents & service charge payable
2. Maintaining the purchase ledger including processing supplier invoices & payment runs
3. Perform reconciliations of bank account, cashbooks & ledgers
4. Ensure all transactions are entered accurately
5. Accurate maintenance of client account records
6. Assisting with preparation of Year End accounts for service charges
7. Ensuring policies and procedures adhere to HMRC & RICS guidelines
8. Liaising with landlords, tenants & suppliers
9. Preparation of ad hoc reports to the property managers
10. Entering of service charge budgets into property software
11. Entering, updating & vacating tenancies in software
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years finance experience and currently studying AAT or similar qualifications.
Job Type: Permanent, full time
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (9am to 5pm)
Location: Based in Hull but with opportunities for hybrid working after a period of time.
