The Lead Practitioner is a dynamic role that utilises their experience and expertise in planning and delivering outstanding learning experiences for pupils with additional learning needs, to strategically support a team of teachers and support staff.

Responsibilities Include:
1. Work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement the school development plan and vision.
2. Champion outstanding teaching and learning experiences for all pupils through modelling, observation and mentoring.
3. Identify professional learning opportunities for your team, leading these where appropriate.
4. Support pupils' emotional regulation sensitively and empathetically using therapeutic approaches.
5. Providing safeguarding support and oversight to the pupils in your group.
6. Analysing assessment results and identifying interventions to aid pupils who require additional support or adapting the curriculum where necessary to meet the evolving and varied needs of all learners.
7. Contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings, advocating for the pupils' best interests.

Qualifications: Teaching Qualification
2. Desirable
Qualifications related to: ALN, Safeguarding, Trauma Informed Approaches, Therapeutic support, PACE, PMLD, Mentoring
3. Experience:
Delivering education to pupils with additional learning needs,
Implementing interventions and tracking impact.
4. Desirable Experience:
Experience delivering PMLD education,
Experience in trauma-informed practice/ PBS,
Leading school improvement initiatives,
Delivering staff training,
Responding to safeguarding concerns.
