SEND Support Assistant Area: Redditch Hours: Mon - Fri, 8:30 - 3:30 Salary: £80- £100 per day Start date: ASAP Do you have experience supporting children with special educational needs? The school are looking for someone who has a positive outlook on life, wanting to make a meaningful impact on children's lives and someone who is proactive and has a passion to support children with special educational needs. It is required that you have experience with children with EHCP's, who have ASD, ADHD, SEMH, who are non-verbal, who have complex needs, it will be a bonus if you are BSL trained. This is a full-time, long-term role, Monday to Friday to start ASAP for the full academic year for the right candidate - Key Responsibilities: Providing support to students of mixed needs and abilities Implement and follow education, health, and care plans (EHCPs) to meet individual student needs under the guidance of teachers. Support the social and emotional development of students. Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment Conduct observations and monitor student progress, feeding back to SENCO's and appropriate leaders Prepare and organise learning materials and resources. Monitor and record student progress, reporting to teachers. Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and external agencies to support student needs. Qualifications and Experience: (Preferably) hold a level 2 qualification in relevant subject, ie. SEN support, childcare, education, support work, care or teaching and supporting Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting that we can reference in the last 2 years Strong Knowledge and understanding of SEND practices and EHCP's Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the school and students.
