Are you an enthusiastic and creative Teacher of Psychology and Sociology who is looking for a new opportunity? King’s School is currently recruiting for a Teacher of Psychology and Sociology to join our supportive and ambitious team. This role is suitable for ECTs looking to start their career in a welcoming environment with a track record of outstanding support for new teachers; and equally for experienced teachers who want a new challenge in a dynamic and ambitious setting. For colleagues with demonstrable experience in the subjects, we are pleased to also be able to offer the additional opportunity of applying for a TLR3 as Lead Teacher.
The role
We are very excited to be offering this post of Teacher of Psychology and Sociology. The post holder will teach Psychology and Sociology at Key Stage 5. Our Sixth Form was established in 2023 and is growing year on year. The successful candidate will enjoy the opportunity to teach smaller A Level classes of committed students as our Sixth Form continues to grow. They will also be asked to teach Religion and Philosophy at Key Stage 3 and potentially at Key Stage 4, which will be discussed in more detail at interview. For experienced colleagues, we are also offering the opportunity of a TLR3 as Lead Teacher of Psychology and Sociology. The school opened its doors to its first cohort of students in September 2013 and moved to its permanent site, a purpose-built facility for all areas of the curriculum, in September 2019.
There are currently just over 900 students in years 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 and a team of over 90 teachers and support staff.

The school received its third Ofsted inspection in March 2022 (Section 5 inspection) and retained its rating of good overall with outstanding features. The inspector noted that pupils “are proud to be part of the school community” and that “the school’s provision for their education and welfare makes a significant contribution to their lives”.
