Fixed term contract until August 2026, full time, 37 hours per week Band 6 - £42,632 to £47,874 per annum About the Post This post has been created as a result of the expansion of the Business portfolio at the University of Suffolk. The post-holder will support the development and launch of new apprenticeship programmes in Project Management and Project Controls working with employers and prospective apprentices to grow this new provision. Initially, this will start with the Level 4 Associate Project Manager qualification with the intention that we run both the Level 6 Project Manager and Level 6 Project Controls Professional qualifications in the future. The post-holder will need to be confident in working alongside project management professionals from a variety of sectors although we anticipate that majority of apprentices will initially come from the construction and engineering sectors. They will work alongside colleagues responsible for business engagement, administration and compliance as well as members of the academic team to ensure the smooth running of the course from the point of view of the University, employers and apprentices. About the Team The Business subject area is going through a period of rapid growth with new undergraduate and apprenticeship courses in development. Although the team is small we expect to see resources grow alongside the growth of new courses but we will look to maintain a friendly, collegiate culture. Collaboration is key to our success with most staff involved in teaching across programmes, working with colleagues in other schools or departments and engaging with professional practice, knowledge exchange and research. Our focus is on supporting one another to succeed together and will look for the post-holder to demonstrate a commitment to working in this manner. About You You will be able to show a balance of academic and professional expertise in the field of project management. Whilst teaching will be shared the successful candidate will be confident and capable of covering all the elements of the Level 4 standard and a significant proportion of those at higher levels. We would encourage applicants to take the time to review the appropriate standards: Level 4 Associate Project Manager Level 6 Project Manager Level 6 Project Controls Professional Apprenticeship programmes require contextualisation and an understanding of professional practice. Apprentices may come from a very wide range of industries but given several very large infrastructure projects in the area we expect most to be employed in construction or engineering. It would be a significant advantage for you to have experience of working as a project professional, ideally within these sectors. Outreach (apprentice recruitment) and networking are important parts of this role and you will need to be confident in working alongside business development colleagues to help promote and raise awareness of our new provision. Benefits Generous annual leave entitlement of 25 days for Bands 1-4 and 30 days for Bands 5 and above, plus 8 bank holidays and any university closure days.
