We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Head of Year to join a secondary school in Barking & Dagenham. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to provide high-quality pastoral support and guidance to a cohort of 270 students, ensuring their well-being and academic success. Key Responsibilities: • Provide pastoral care and support for students in the assigned year group. • Monitor the academic progress, behaviour, and overall welfare of the cohort. • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to address any issues impacting students' education and well-being. • Implement behaviour management strategies and promote a positive learning environment. • Organise year group activities, assemblies, and events to support students' social and emotional development. • Act as a key point of contact for students, parents, and staff, offering guidance and resolving concerns. What We're Looking For: • Experience working in a pastoral role, ideally in a secondary school setting. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents. • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. • A proactive, empathetic, and solution-focused approach.
